Griffiths Looking To Impress

Blackburn Rovers youngster Royston Griffiths is hoping that his loan move to Gretna will open the door to a future, ideally with Rovers.

The 19-year-old Australian Youth International has signed on loan for the Scottish Premier League side until the end of the season, a move which he hopes can see him catch the eye of Rovers as they will be certain to be monitoring his progress, however, the midfielder is also VERY MUCH interested in helping Gretna stay in the Scottish top-flight, although he admits that he knew NOTHING about Gretna before he signed.

Griffiths said: "All I knew about Gretna before I came here was that it's where people get married. But I now know they have an SPL side too.

"While I'm here I want to prove I can play at this level. Loan moves can kick-start a player's career and hopefully that will happen for me.

"My chances at Blackburn were limited but I'm sure they'll send someone to watch me while I'm here and it's up to me to impress.

"But first and foremost I want to keep Gretna up
."

Good luck to Griffiths and Gretna, all he can do is perform, if he does this will either bring him back to Ewood Park with the chance of getting into the first team or will earn him a move elsewhere.

It'll be tough for Griffiths to break into the Rovers first team but a GOOD loan spell will do his chances good, so good luck to him and Gretna.

He is a good hard working kid with lots of technical ability, however he is too much in the gamst pederson mold, way too soft

Sometimes being a soft technical player can be an advantage if you make it one.... time will tell I am sure.

Yeah good luck to him. I like Gretna so I hope he can help their cause. Also, this spell in 'top flight' football could make or break his chances of featuring for rovers. Good luck Royston.

I love it when Stelling calls that Deuchar who plays for Gretna "the good doctor"!!!
